SELWYN SHANDEL - CEO/Composer/Producer
Selwyn is a recognised music industry expert with over 30 years of experience as a composer, producer and executive. He has composed and produced numerous multi-platinum and gold-selling albums for legendary artists such as the late Brenda Fassie, Johnny Clegg, Hugh Masekela, Steve Kekana and many others.
He has also composed and produced a variety of award-winning commercials, both locally and internationally—previous clients include Kodak, Coca-Cola, Schweppes, Shoprite Checkers, British Airways and Vodacom. As a music industry executive, Selwyn has headed up various music companies, including EMI/CCP and Shandel Music, and is a master of music supervision, sourcing, clearances, licensing and music publishing, servicing South African and international ad agencies, television producers, corporations and record companies.
With his company, Indigi Productions, he conceptualised, implemented and procured a multi-million-rand sponsorship deal for the successful launch of the radio show and vocal talent competition Voice of Choice. One of the great discoveries from this project was Doctor Malinga, now one of South Africa’s top recording artists and a renowned television personality and live performer. Selwyn’s passion and love for discovering and developing talent inspired him to found Venturescape Studios, already fast becoming known in the music and voice production industries.
In his spare time, Selwyn enjoys composing, playing the piano and singing. He is also a keen adventure sportsman having completed the Three Peaks Trail Running Challenge, The Xterra off-road triathlon and recently the 2015 ABSA Cape Epic mountain bike race as well as having 18 Argus Cycle Tours under his belt!!
CRAIG ROSS – COO/Voice Over Coach/Producer
Craig is one of South Africa’s most highly regarded professional voice-over and dubbing artists. Working with the world’s leading brands and with over ten years of experience, Craig is a man of multiple and diverse passions. His heart lies in sharing his gift for voice-over and sound design with anyone who has a deep desire to unleash their dreams. This is the impetus behind Venturescape Voice Workshops — a first for South Africa.
Craig has been heard as the voice of Hyundai, Unilever, Volkswagen, Audi and many more household brand names. He is also the radio station promo voice for Algoa FM, KFM, Jacaranda FM, OFM and East Coast Radio. Craig has radio in his blood — his great grandfather, grandfather, father and uncle were all “radio men” — and his journey has taken him from being a DJ on community and Christian radio all the way to megastation KFM.
A gifted sportsman, accomplished pianist, actor, outdoor gym junkie, food and wine connoisseur and ardent chocaholic, Craig Ross is the very definition of ‘legend-in-the-making’.
RYAN SHANDEL - Marketing Executive
Having grown up in the music and voice production industries his entire life, Ryan got an early start in the entertainment business. While fine-tuning his skills in sales and marketing at international online gaming company Forwardslash, he co-founded and managed several promotional events companies and marketing startups, including So, Happy In Cape Town? and Just-in Productions. Ryan assisted in co-ordinating and played a leading role in a brand new international reality TV show to be released soon.
Ryan has also managed marketing projects at some of the top restaurants and bars in Cape Town, such as Café Caprice, Seelans, Cafe Chic and Shimmy Beach Club. Internationally, Ryan ran a successful promotional events company called Mirrors, based on the isle of Ibiza, Spain. On the sporting front Ryan represented South Africa at an International Federation of Muaythai Amateur Competition which was held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ryan brings his great networking and marketing expertise and youthful passion to Venturescape Studios and will direct and oversee all sales and marketing, public relations and social media initiatives for the company.
BRAD SHANDEL - Sales Manager
Brad will be heading up Venturescape Studios sales division. He has had 5 years of experience in sales in two different countries, from Real Estate to Event sales. He has been involved in numerous high end sales transactions. He understands the various stages of the sales transaction process and is always willing to go the extra mile for a client.
Brad will be there to guide and assist our clients with any customer service that they might require. Please contact him should you require any information on any project that we could be of assistance.
When Brad is not in the office, he loves traveling and a good thrill from Snowboarding to Water Sports, Brad is always keen on a good adventure!!
